Eversolar partnered with G3 Citrus Farm, a family-owned South African producer of citrus and vegetables, to implement a robust solar and energy storage solution tailored to the operational demands of modern agriculture. The installation comprises a 1.6 MWp solar PV system integrated with a 2.36 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), enabling the farm to generate and manage its own power more effectively while reducing reliance on an unstable grid supply.

Designed to support energy-intensive farming activities such as irrigation, processing, and cold storage, the system delivers an annual energy output of approximately 2,451,000 kWh, with a strong yield of 1,521 kWh/kWp. The addition of battery storage enhances energy resilience by allowing excess solar generation to be stored and used during peak demand periods or grid outages. This results in improved operational continuity while reducing the farm’s carbon footprint by an estimated 2,206 tonnes of CO₂ annually, a meaningful step toward sustainable agricultural production.
