Agricultural Solar & Storage System for Mixed Farming Operations

Eversolar delivered a tailored solar and battery storage solution for Wiggill Farm, a Limpopo-based operation producing potatoes, butternuts, and game – where consistent energy supply is critical to maintaining product quality. The installation includes a 1.11 MWp solar PV system paired with a 2.1 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), designed to support the farm’s daily energy demands while reducing exposure to grid instability.

With a strong system yield of 1,634.1 kWh/kWp, the installation generates approximately 1,880,000 kWh annually, providing reliable power for irrigation, processing, and on-site operations. The integrated battery storage enables energy shifting and backup capability, ensuring continuity during outages and optimising the use of solar generation throughout the day. This system also contributes to a reduction of approximately 1,694 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year, reinforcing the farm’s commitment to sustainable, high-quality agricultural production.
